Conservancy Lane cleaning in Cox Town - way over due23 Mar, 2014Conservancy Lane cleaning in Cox Town - way over dueHealth & SanitationThis is to bring to your notice the plight of the residents of Cox Town where we have Conservancy Lanes adjoining residences of most roads. I live on Sundar Murthy Road.
The conservancy lane adjoining our residence - between Webster Road and Gymkhana Grounds and between Sundar Murthy and Thambu Chetty Roads was concreted a few years ago to prevent growing of weeds, stop rodents and other burrowing animals from damaging property etc. The lane has a gate that blocks view by day and remains locked all times for security reasons.
This lane now has weeds, debris, leaves shed by roadside trees etc. and garbage being dumped by others in it. After numerous requests and the appearance of snakes in the vicinity, someone has cleaned a part of the lane and a huge amount what has been cleared has been dumped behind ours & adjoining residences. I have been visiting the offices of BBMP (Cox Town - Govt Hospital, Moore Road, BBMP Park near East Railway Stn., nr. Ulsoor Lake etc) for over a week now and requesting that something be done about the menace - snakes & rodents are making their way into our and neighbouring residences - and clean up the mess. My requests have all fallen on deaf ears.
We have little children at home and in the neighbourhood and would like to see our residences safe - just like I am sure you would like yours to be. I now request you to act on this call of mine and kindly do the needful at the earliest and oblige.

Garrbage Dumping at Mariamma koil street,Jai Bharath nagar05 Sep, 2013Garrbage Dumping at Mariamma koil street,Jai Bharath nagarBruhat Bangalore Mahanagara PalikeHealth & SanitationDear Sir/Madam,
Every morning we find pile of garbage dumped right in front of my house. Which is creating health issue to people around. In spite of repeat warning people dump the garbage which is leading to unhealthy living.
Now that its raining the situation is worsen,we are forced to shut the house door throughout the day.(The place stinks and also the bin-lady does not come everyday to sweep the road and the bin man cleans up the garbage only by noon everyday - At times the garbage is left without collecting)
There are many kids residing in the locality and its a residential area, kids are prone to falling sick quite frequently. There are chances of we getting infected with Malaria or Dengue fever with the given situation.
Having said that I am not sure what action the government is going to take and help the people. Me being a common man do not have a loud voice to control the public.People sweep, water and also decorate their door step with Rangoli, but litter my place by throwing garbage.
Picture of the piled garbage attached for reference.
Kindly ensure there is a penalty laid for the people who dump garbage in and around the residential place which is incorporated strictly and followed through till the problem subsidies.
This is my second complaint on the same issue which is not fixed yet by BBMP.
Hoping to see you take strict action this time which yield result and our better living.
Regards,
Charles Felix

Road Widening23 Jan, 2013Road WideningBruhat Bangalore Mahanagara PalikeRoads, Traffic & TransportSir/Madam, I would like to bring to your notice the narrow stretch of the service road (Gover Road Cross) which lies in between Wheeler Road and Lazar parallel to the railway tracks. This road is very narrow and hardly any car can pass through them. Nearly 30 residents live on this road and constantly face hardship in commuting on this road. The Corporation has laid a demarcation stone on the unused land to mark the BBMP land and railway land. Kindly extend the road until the BBMP land so that we can be eased in travelling without any hardship.

Garbage collection near school11 Jan, 2013Garbage collection near schoolBruhat Bangalore Mahanagara PalikeHealth & SanitationIn front of the Clarence high school ground there is a garbage collection point. Garbage Collection Autos come here and dump garbage which is then collected by Garbage Truck. All the garbage is dumped on the road and then picked up by the workers. This is also a low lying area where flooding takes place every year. The drains have choked due to garbage and construction material leading to water logging with rainfall. The garbage collection point should be shifted to a place away from traffic, schools, and residences. And the garbage should directly be loaded into the truck instead of putting it on the ground. The nearby drain at this site is half choked due to garbage.
